Finding Your Inner Beauty
Sometimes, struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If God allowed us to go through our lives without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been. We could never fly. So, you see, we were born to spread our wings and fly. Although the cycle of life can be challenging from one phase to the other, just as long as you have breath in your body and can flap your wings, you have the ability to fly.struggle
“And do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2)
The renewing of your mind, ridding yourself of “stinking thinking!” Thinking, I can’t do this, it is too hard. Your purpose won’t come without challenges. Know that the challenges are allowed for a purpose and are supposed to build the muscle and veins in your wings to allow you to fly through adversity that can rise at different times in your life.
I am so thankful how God seems to send messages at the right time. Right when I was feeling weary during one of my life’s struggles, a friend gave me a magnet that read; “Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly.” (Quotable Magnets) “How profound,” I thought. “I got to keep pushing!”
When we come up against adversity, we must fight for what we want and be strong enough to be able to stand the test. It took someone to point out to me how much had transpired in my husband’s and my life in the past few years. In February of 2014, my husband suddenly retired from work due to stress. With him being the main bread winner, we had to make some major changes. We were well over $600,000 in debt when he called me and said that he couldn’t go back to work. We had to sell our 2,800 square foot home and move into a two-bedroom apartment.
In February of 2015, we purchased a much smaller foreclosed home that needed major upgrading. A month later, March of 2015, my sister-in-law passed away and eight days later her husband – my husband’s brother – passed on my birthday. In January of 2016, my Dad passed away. During all of this, I am still running my business, going to many doctor’s appointments, and taking care of my husband. The blessing in all of this as of January of 2014, I had already begun my health and wellness journey. I did not realize the magnitude of eventful blows that was taking place in our lives in such a short time. So, you see, it really makes a difference when you are spiritually, mentally, and physically fit! I urge you as the readers to make time for these crucial areas in your life for peace, balance, and harmony.
Just as every stage in human life is crucial to development, every stage of the butterfly is crucial to the next stage. No one stage can be omitted. You may feel like you can’t keep going through so many stages of struggles but choose to look at it differently. Instead of looking at the struggle, choose to look at the change that is taking place and how it is equipping you for the next phase of your life. If you breeze though life without the practice of obstacles, how will you be able to jump the big hurdles life can place in front of you? Embrace every stage of life and count it all joy.
“We were born to be distinct, there are priceless things in the world like pearls; you have to dive deep to go get it. Oil, you have to dig deep, it doesn’t just float to the top of the ground.”

Patrick and I want to thank Don and Charlene for how they both have blessed us. We thank you both
for your walk alone is a testimony of what a Godly walk looks like. Despite both of their challenges or sufferings in their lives and their families, they both are so giving. Through death, life-changing surgery, and events they totally believed in God and walked with their heads up high, full of life; like they have no cares in the world. AMAZING! Being a hair-dresser people tend to look for me to pour into them for encouragement. With that being said; I must start my day on a positive note. Charlene has always poured into me and my salon. Therefore; I start my day at o - dark thirty with Charlene as my first client of the day on the days she needs her hair done. I thank God for placing Don and Charlene in our lives!
